Temescal Associates' MINDFULNESS IN AFTERSCHOOL TRAINING
Temescal Associates provides a two-day training on Mindfulness. Day one is intended for adult staff and focuses on self-care using Mindfulness techniques. Day two is for youth workers who will be leading Temescal's 16-session Mindfulness curriculum with young people.

Mindfulness supports social emotional skills: self-awareness - I know how I'm feeling; self-management - I can control my behavior; social awareness - I care about others feelings; interpersonal skills - I work well with others; self-efficacy - I can overcome challenges; and, a growth mindset - the harder I try, the better I get! Mindfulness also supports the CA State Quality Standards for Expanded Learning. Specifically, practicing mindfulness can create a Safe and Supportive Environment, Active and Engaged Learning, Skill Building, Youth Voice and Leadership, Healthy Choices and Behaviors and Diversity, Access and Equity.

Our most recent work has been with Riverside Unified School District. They trained all of their Student Support Staff in the Mindfulness curriculum.

Please contact Stacey Daraio at info@temescalassociates.com with any questions or to request this training.
